a) Research on environmental contaminants occurrence in the Arctic
b) Determination of nitro- and oxy-PAHs in air samples using gas chromatography interfaced with mass spectrometry with negative chemical ionization (GC-MS-NCI)
c) Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCPs) in sewage effluent - Presentation of John Ansgar Aasen Bunæs scientific work:
a) Determination of marine toxins (okadaic acid, saxitoxin, neosaxitoxin, etc.) using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry or fluorescent light detector (UHPLC‒MS/MS, HPLC‒FLD)
b) Residues of veterinary drugs in foods (eggs, meat, honey) and human body fluids (urine, plasma) – methods using UHPLC‒MS/MS (Ph.D. research of Stine Aanrud) - Introduction of Vidar Berg research:
a) Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in fish tissue
b) Determination of environmental contaminants in liver of bird (Bubo bubo) – multivariate analysis between biological indicators (HDL, LDL, cholesterol, fatty acids, aminoaspartate transferase) and environmental contaminants (Ph.D. project of Vidar Torget) - Presentations of UCT student’s Ph.D. studies:
a) Tomáš Gramblička – Organophosphorus flame retardants in human environment
b) Veronika Pekárková – Determination of pesticides in various matrices
c) Ing. Andrea Švarcová – Determination of novel flame retardants in human serum
d)Ing. Kateřina Urbancová – Metabolites of PAHs and phthalate esters in human urine, residues of veterinary drugs in soil - Visit of Campus of NMBU in Ås
Transfer of knowledge from NMBU to UCT Prague:
- Deepening of knowledge in the field of environmental contaminants
- Development of new analytical approaches
- Future benefits:
- co-operation with the NMBU experts on the environmental contaminants analysis, methods using liquid and gas chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (GC‒MS/MS, UHPLC‒MS/MS)
- using non-target approach for comprehensive analysis of environmental samples and exposure assessment of human to environmental contaminants
